American Heart Association Courses: An Impact That Resonates For LIFE
Do you need to update your CPR certification? Do you need to be CPR certified for your job? Are you expecting a baby and would like your caretaking team to be prepared should an emergency arise? If you are looking for a place to obtain a new certification or renew the certification you already have but prefer a fun, personable class, you have found it.
In over 20 years of teaching lifesaving classes, it has become apparent that stringent, over-the-top classes do not make better rescuers. A sense of humor combined with a logical understanding of the skills required to respond then supported with skill repetition, we have learned that our students report an excellent experience in a non-threatening environment.
We host classes on-site or will host courses at your location for your group. 4th & Goal currently works with several area physical therapy clinics, dental offices, school districts, and athletic teams to get all of their staff aligned with their staff certifications on the same renewal timeline. We will work with you to come to your location before the workday begins, over lunch blocks or at the end of the day to get all of your staff certified at one time. Groups report that this improves their workplace efficiency and have found it is an excellent team-building activity.
If you are an individual that needs certification, we host courses at our location on specified dates or can be arranged in a number of formats (I.E. On-line coursework, in-person skills checks, all in-person, etc.). If already certified and have an advanced understanding of the material required and looking to “challenge” your renewal process, we offer a format for you to be able to meet for skills testing and written exam.
In addition to all of our traditional AHA courses, 4th & Goal also offers opportunities for unique skill development without pursuing formal certification. One of our most unique class offerings is for expectant parents. For peace of mind and preparedness for the newest addition to your family, we offer courses for your family or caregiver group (anyone who will be babysitting for you) to teach formal or informal classes that cover common-sense topics such as infant and child choking, CPR, general injury care and how to use an AED if one were to become available. We have offered these courses in-home or at our location; previous groups have described these sessions as great fun but also reduce new parent anxiety.
For school districts, we have done trainings for teachers, lunchroom staff and administrators. For coaches and athletic staff, in addition to AHA courses for CPR/AED/AED/First Aid we can add skill components such as ankle taping and basic skills to get athletes on the court before the athletic trainer arrives.

Basic Life Support (BLS)
The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.
Courses can be arranged in an individual format, can be completed both on-line & testing in person (hybrid) or as a “Challenge” course.
Heartsaver First AID/CPR/AED
The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course trains participants to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
The AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA), or other requirements, or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.
Courses can be arranged in an individual format, can be completed both on-line and in person (hybrid). They can be customized to include any combination of skill components that you need.
Custom Courses
We enjoy the opportunity of allowing you and your organization creativity in designing courses that meet your needs. We offer courses for coaches that include First Aid/CPR/AED components as well as athletic taping instruction.
We love to create courses for new parents and families- we have helped families feel more at ease and prepared in the event of a family emergency. A family course can include formal certification or skills taught in a simple, informal format.
